Japanese Jesus
A two-piece from County Limerick, Japanese Jesus is made up of Bertie Kelly on vocals, guitars, and bass, with Denny Dunworth on drums. The duo has a rich musical history, having previously performed as Supermodel Twins in the noughties and even recording their debut album with Noel Hogan of The Cranberries. Now with a more alternative and punk-influenced sound, Japanese Jesus made a strong return with their debut single, Facilities, which was produced by Mike Gavin and mastered by Richard Dowling. Their latest work, the five-track Depression Breakfast EP, released in June 2023, continues to showcase their distinct style.
Emily Panter
Drawing inspiration from the moody sounds of the '80s and '90s, Limerick-based recording artist Emily Panter has carved out a distinct sound with her debut EP, Remember they love you. Released on SASP Records, the project has been praised by Golden Plec for its "confident collection of tracks, blending moody, distorted guitar with captivating, esoteric vocals." Panter’s music leans into a dark, grunge-infused style, utilizing distorted guitar riffs and electronic drums while her ghostly, dreamy vocals float above. With influences ranging from Duran Duran and Dire Straits to progressive rock, her sound has been described as reminiscent of a submerged "Boys of Summer."
Annie Cheevers
Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Annie Cheevers is an indie-folk artist and songwriter now based in Limerick, Ireland. She is known for her emotionally raw songwriting, which she blends with dreamy, atmospheric soundscapes. Drawing on a diverse range of influences from Sharon Van Etten and Bruce Springsteen to Sinéad O’Connor, Cheevers has built a strong live presence, performing at notable venues like Brighton Music Hall in Boston and London's Union Chapel, and at festivals such as Ireland's All Together Now. Following the release of her debut EP, Big Kid, in 2022, she recently toured with Amos Lee in Germany and the UK. Cheevers is currently writing and shaping her new body of work from her home in Limerick.
