Folklore continues Ireland’s oldest tradition, oral storytelling, reimagined in the modern landscape of the 2000s to 2010s drug trade. Structured around the seven Catholic sacraments, each track marks a ritual stage in a cycle of life, choice, and consequence. These songs reflect raw lived experience, tracing a journey through entry, commitment, reflection, conflict, and final reckoning. No sentimentality or redemption, only the pattern of reality, told in a form as old as the land itself.
The EP draws on the vivid, rhythmic style of the seanchaithe, the storytellers of Irish folklore, whose tales blurred myth and history. Like the Lebor Gabála Érenn (Book of Invasions), Folklore blends legend, memory, and Christian influence to create a uniquely mythic narrative.
Told through the eyes of a young man coming of age during Ireland’s drug trade boom, the record fluctuates in intensity and attitude; moments of self-reflection give way to the same “trap of volition,” where choices lead inevitably back to the cycle.

"A madcap performer who shreds Hiberno-English into bloodstained, zany rap, DaVinci is the group’s ODB, but somehow also its RZA. His refreshingly strange songs show why, and how, the unvarnished rural Irish accent can work in rap" - VICE
"neo-noir dispatches from forgotten parts of modern Ireland where brawling, drug-fueled binges, unrequited love, and treacherous betrayals are an everyday thing. Just don’t ask them how to cook crack" - passionweiss.com
